Cages For Rabbits Beautiful And Different

Breeding rabbits, though a bit troublesome, is at the same time a profitable and interesting occupation. Now many people who have garden or household plots are settling their rabbit farm on them. Different systems are used for keeping rabbits. Currently more common:
• freestyle;
• semi-free (captive);
• cell.

Usually, when breeding rabbits on their land, in the summer period they are kept in cages in the open air, and in winter these fertile, fluffy animals are placed in a specially equipped room. What are these systems of keeping rabbits?

Aviary maintenance system

Some breeders prefer to keep their pets not in cages, but in freedom, arguing that due to the activity, rabbits develop healthy and less prone to diseases, and their fur is much better than that of captive brothers. At the same time, at first glance, the system of cell-free keeping of rabbits seems to be the least expensive and troublesome. In part, this may be so. But we should not forget that in this case there is the likelihood of a massive case of rabbit livestock. In addition, mating mating can lead to degeneration of the herd, and a large crowding – to fights and injuries, which adversely affect the animal’s skin.

For aviary type content characteristic is the arrangement of the fenced area, for which a dry, elevated place is selected or an empty barn is adapted. Then, supports are installed along the entire perimeter and sheets of sheeting or slate are instilled to a depth of at least 30 cm, which should protect against wind and prevent the possibility of undermining. The material for the upper part of the aviary, having a height of at least one and a half meters, is a metal mesh. From above, for protection against bad weather, it is necessary to arrange a canopy. The floor of the open-air cage is covered with straw, nests, a common feeder and a drinking bowl are settled.

Cellular content system

Today it is the most rational method of keeping rabbits, which can be divided into two types:
• in enclosed spaces (sheds or sheds);
• outside, in open cells.

Cages for rabbits can be individual and group. The latter are used for rearing. There are different approaches to the arrangement of cells. Views differ on the material from which the cage floor should be arranged. Some believe that the best option is the floor of the fine-meshed mesh, others – wooden lath, and still others prefer their combination.

For the winter rabbits in their mini-farm is perfectly suited, located on the inner perimeter of the barn, simple three-tier wooden structures consisting of individual cells, with uterine compartment. The main part of the cage has a wooden frame mesh door. The uterine compartment is equipped with a separate door made of plywood, which allows better retention of heat in the mother liquor. Rack wooden floor is quite simple to make, is more warm and useful. At the same time it is quite convenient in cleaning, thanks to the gaps between the slats and the presence of a pallet for collecting manure.

If the height of the room, for example, the attic, does not allow the construction of multi-tiered structures, then it is possible to install simple one-story structures with one door. In this case, the liquor can be made in the form of a separate box. Inside this queen cell there will be a nest for rabbits, and on top a shelf for the rabbit, to which she will be able to climb along an inclined board specially installed for this purpose.

The same design, but already with a roof made of slate or other material suitable for this, can be installed in the yard under a shed and used for the summer housing of rabbits.

For growing young stock for meat is best to use the so-called broiler cells. This is a simple design, equipped with bunker feeders and removable drinkers. It can be built directly on a wooden fence, using it as the back wall of the rabbitry, which will further save on materials.

Some rabbit growers prefer ready-made metal mesh cages, for example, galvanized steel. Such cells can be assembled into rows and tiers, securing them on a specially made frame, where under each tier there is an inclined platform with a groove for collecting the products of the vital activity of rabbits.

Rabbit cages do not have to be functional. If desired, and the presence of imagination, they can become a decoration of the garden, organically blending into its design. But for this sometimes only a small stroke is enough. For example, make a small greenhouse of annual plants on the roof of the rabbit, comfortably located near the garden fence.

A good solution is the rabbitry, which combines a wooden frame and open metal cages. This structure is interesting not only by the design of its design, but also by the automation of processes, due to the arrangement of its original automatic trough and a sloping platform for removal of waste products from the cells of the second tier.

For those who want to have a mini-zoo in their yard, the original wooden cages, treated with varnish and equipped inside with not only a convenient separate house, but also various attractions, will be perfect.

In summer, rabbits can also be kept in fully open cages of a wooden frame covered with a metal grid. The floor in them can be either batten or plywood, or mesh. Such cells can be equipped with bunker feeders and mangers for grass and hay.

Breeding rabbits is not only the availability of healthy dietary meat in your diet, but in the wardrobe of a rabbit fur coat, but an exciting activity that gives additional life experience and moral satisfaction.
