Any more or less experienced rabbit breeder knows the dependence of the productivity of rabbits on their living conditions. Therefore, every responsible breeder tries to make them as good as possible. The best solution, in such a situation, is to install a separate building in the form of a shed, for keeping animals.
Everyone knows that in farms most types of domestic animals are kept in separate rooms, which differ in size and internal structure. Rabbits, in this case, are no exception. The structure and size of the shed for them depends not only on the number of animals, but also on financial possibilities, the availability of free territory and even on the imagination and abilities of the owner of the farm.
It must be remembered that the best feeders and drinkers installed in the cells immediately before feeding. In this regard, it is necessary to provide a place where the appropriate inventory will be stored. This will provide an opportunity to save time on feeding. Moreover, in this case, it is much easier to maintain the purity of the feeders and drinkers.
As a rule, the shed for rabbits is built from the available materials: boards, slate, metal mesh. Inside the building are established cages for each animal. The size of the cage must meet the following conditions: width 50-70cm, length 110-120 and height 55-65cm. An open-air cage can be attached to the shed, enclosed by a grid, its size depends on the availability of free territory. Such a pen gives the rabbit a sense of some freedom; you can walk them for a long time in it. This will positively affect their health, physical condition and mood. In addition, in the aviary is much more convenient to clean, and it should be done much less frequently. In the barn you can also install a common cage for keeping several animals or for sitting the male with a female. Cages for rabbits in the barn, as a rule, set at a height of 60-80cm. from the ground for ease of maintenance. The total cell area should be at least 0.2m2 per individual. The bottom of the cells is made either from the grid, with a cell size of 20x20mm, or from wooden slats with a width of 20mm. The slats are installed across the cage, and the distance between them should be approximately 1.5 cm. If the cells are installed in several rows above each other, then under each of them it is necessary to provide a removable tray, into which the garbage and waste products of rabbits will fall. This will facilitate the cleaning process and save time rabbit breeder.
Many farmers make a barn for rabbits with their own hands, because it is much more profitable than buying factory team enclosures that rarely can satisfy the demands of an experienced rabbit breeder. In them, rabbits grow much slower and often get sick.
The shed should be tightly knit, without unnecessary gaps, as this can lead to drafts that can adversely affect the health of animals. However, do not forget about ventilation. That is, air supply and air circulation should be sufficient for normal life of the rabbits. To do this, it is necessary to make ventilation holes in the building.
As can be seen in how to build a barn for rabbits with your own hands, there is nothing difficult. Everyone can handle it. It requires only patience and the availability of free time. Building a barn can bring positive results in a short period of time: rabbits will grow faster, gain weight and be healthier.
